- The North State Chorale, a male chorus based in Winston-Salem, seeks new members for its 2009-2010 season. Interested men are invited to an open rehearsal/audition.
-
Scheduled for: Monday, 6:15 - 8:15 PM
Season/duration for this call: August to May
The North Sate Chorale, currently in its twenty-first season, invites men interested in joining to an open rehearsal on August 24th. The ensemble performs several concerts each season. In addition, it has appeared in concerts with the Winston-Salem and Greensboro Symphonies, Piedmont Opera Theatre, the UNCG Opera Theatre, the Piedmont Wind Symphony and at Biltmore Estate. The NSC sings a wide variety of musical styles from the Renaissance to the present day. Repertoire includes favorites from Broadway, opera, folk-songs, spirituals and patriotic works. The four-part chorus performs both a cappella and accompanied, and is joined by a professional orchestra for its Holiday Concert performance. Rehearsals are relaxed yet highly productive, and the chorus has built a reputation for performing at a professional level. The main criterion for membership is a willingness to commit to the rehearsal and performance schedule. There are openings in all sections: Tenor I and II, Baritone and Bass. Prior choral experience is helpful. Contact the Riley Davis at 336-768-4259 or Dr. Richard Cook at 336-725-0858 for more information.
