I Am the Rose of Sharon
Cantari, CHCC's select vocal ensemble, tops off their season with a bow to American music in “I Am the Rose of Sharon." Think of the artists Andrew Wyeth, Grandma Moses and Norman Rockwell. Now translate that into music, and you have an idea of what Cantari has in store. Rugged life on the western prairie, a lone mountain cabin, grand roaring rivers, a primitive country church, a cherry orchard, a barn raising, a valley glistening with morning’s dew, a dark-eyed girl. Images and memories from times gone by. Music by William Billings, Stephen Foster and Stephen Paulus.
