Tenebrae: Singing of the Passion

Tenebrae is the traditional "Service of Darkness" sung during Holy Week. As the service unfolds, 15 candles set upon the Tenebrae "hearse" in the front of the church are extinguished one by one until all is dark. This evening will feature an exquisite new setting of the Passion according to Saint Matthew composed by Roger Petrich, music director at St. Thomas More in Chapel Hill.
