Youth Choral Initiatives

Every now and then, an opportunity arises for choral advocacy beyond the website. By following the links on this page, you can learn about two local efforts that TriangleSings! has helped create, support and promote. The aim of both is to get young people involved in choral music — encouraging them to sing, to sing well and to develop a lifetime love of singing with others.

In 2004, the website launched and cosponsored the Triangle Youth Chorus Trophy, which annually honored one of the area's public school ensembles. This continued through 2010.

Now TriangleSings!, in conjunction with Triangle Community Foundation, has begun the Raising Voices initiative. This program provides a flexible, one-time grant of up to $5,000 for a creative, new project for youth in singing in Wake, Durham, Orange and/or Chatham counties.
