SUMMARY:World Premiere of Glasgow’s “Gloria” at Carnegie Hall
DESCRIPTION:A new “Gloria” will make its world premiere at New York’s legendary Carnegie Hall this June! Rehearsals started this month and are based in North Raleigh (though we have singers from all over the country who have auditioned, are rehearsing via livestream, and will join us in NYC for the residency).\nIf you’re interested, please contact 919-845-0303, or through www.michaeljglasgow.com, or via Twitter/YouTube(@MichaelJGlasgow).\nThe work is melodic, exciting, full of rich and beautiful harmonic textures, and would classify as “moderately difficult.”\nThe Carnegie Hall residency is under the auspices of MidAmerica Productions, featuring a full professional orchestra (the New England Symphonic Ensemble) and publicity. I’m conducting and can assure you you’ll have an amazing experience. The chorus is primarily adults, but teens with top-notch choral chops are welcome also.\nThe choir is currently composed of 80 singers from Raleigh and beyond, and I have space for about 20 more. Note: this is a significant investment of time, money and energy — but I can promise that those who are selected and register will have a truly outstanding, once-in-a-lifetime experience.\nMusic-reading and choral-singing experience is critical: many singers come from the NC Master Chorale, NC Opera, and other professional and paraprofessional organizations; however, by no means must you be a professional musician to audition.\n
