DESCRIPTION:Voices’ December concert, Evening in December, features our full company performing Sarah Quartel’s A Winter Day, featuring texts by Sara Teasdale, Lucy Maud Montgomery, and Melville Cane; and “Stars” by Joseph Martin. The second half of our concert moves into the holiday spirit with our chamber ensemble, Cantari, presenting a set of a cappella pieces featuring the tight harmony of the vocal groups First Call and Take 6. The full chorus returns with a bit of nostalgia singing a set of carols by Alfred Burt, concluding with Stephen Chatman’s multi-movement work Christmas Joy. Complete with a fun audience singalong, there’s something for everyone as we gather for a winter Evening in December.\n
