SUMMARY:Tarboro Choral Society: The 3B’s: Bach, Beethoven and Brahms Weekend!
DESCRIPTION:Please join us for a jammed pack weekend of events featuring the music of Bach, Beethoven and Brahms. Schedule of events may be found at www.tarborochoralsociety.com.\nThis year’s Festival is called “The Three B’s,” featuring the music of Bach, Beethoven, and Brahms.  The festival is scheduled for May 2, 3, and 4, 2025.  By focusing on the contributions of these three musical giants, the Choral Society, along with professional guest musicians, will fulfill our mission to bring great choral/orchestral masterpieces to Tarboro and eastern North Carolina.  \nThe festival will begin at 6:30 on Friday with a fabulous “Evening in Vienna” in Clark Hall of Calvary Church.  Anderson Ferrell will describe the social and cultural life of Vienna during the time of Brahms and invite the audience to enjoy wine and hors d’oeuvres before the concert begins.  The Carolina Choral Artists, accompanied by two concert pianists and conducted by James Mauk, will sing Brahms’ Love Song Waltzes as four dancers perform the Viennese waltzes.  To complete the evening, soloists will perform several Brahms’ Art Songs.\n“All About Bach” will be the focus of an organ concert scheduled for 7:00 Saturday evening at Howard Memorial Presbyterian Church.  Guest performers will be organists from the Eastern North Carolina Organ Guild.\nThe festival weekend will conclude with “Masterworks of the Three B’s” on Sunday evening at 7:00 in Keihin Auditorium at Edgecombe Community College.  The Tarboro Choral Society will be joined by a group of students from Stokes Elementary school to perform choral selections of Bach, portraying his use of young singers for the melody.  Rebekah Ambrosini will return to Tarboro to perform the Brahms Alto Rhapsody for solo and men’s chorus.  Calen Harris, guest pianist, will join the chorus and orchestra in a performance of Beethoven’s Choral Fantasy.  \nAll events are FREE.\n
