DESCRIPTION:The Concert Singers of Cary is holding auditions for singers of all voice parts. In its 35th season, Concert Singers boasts a 130-voice symphonic choir. Rehearsing on Monday evenings at the Good Shepherd United Church of Christ in Cary, Concert Singers performs music from across the choral spectrum in a variety of styles, and regularly collaborates with the North Carolina Symphony, the Durham Symphony Orchestra, Mallarme Chamber Players, and non-classical groups. Auditions will be Monday August 11, 2025 evening at the Cary Arts Center.\n\n\nCSC 2025-26 season 35:\n\nfirst rehearsal: Sep 8\nsingers picnic, afternoon Sep 13\nMusic of Spirits: A Halloween Spectacular – Nov 1, 8pm (Sat) CAC; orch reh 10/30 – “Featuring portions of Mendelssohn’s Die Erste Walpurgisnacht, Bigler’s setting of Edger Allen Poe’s The Bells, and Stroope’s Danse Macabre”\nHoliday Pops – Tue Dec 9, 8pm – CAC; orch reh 12/8 – “An annual tradition sure to get you in the holiday spirit. A fun program of popular holiday tunes in collaboration with guest soloists and a swinging band in a variety of musical styles.”\nThe Sacred Veil – Jan 2026 – chamber choir – GFBC – NOTE: may be swapped with the one below – “A 12-movement collaboration between composer Eric Whitacre and poet/lyricist Charles Anthony Silvestri telling a story of life, love and loss. Silvestri’s wife, Julie, died of ovarian cancer at age 36 in 2005, leaving two young children.
