The Christ Church Adult Choir is auditioning to fill 4 volunteer vacancies:

• 1 soprano
• 1 alto
• 2 baritone

The Christ Church Adult Choir is an advanced choral ensemble that draws its repertoire primarily from the Anglican choral tradition. A semi-professional ensemble, we rehearse on Wednesday evenings and sing for the 11am Rite 1 Holy Eucharist on Sunday mornings, for various concerts, and special liturgies throughout the year including choral evensong, and Lessons & Carols.  In July of 2023 the choir will undertake a tour to sing a weekend of services at Westminster Abbey with additional services at St. George’s Windsor, and both cathedrals in Dublin, Ireland.  Choirs from Christ Church have previously sung on tour at Notre Dame, Paris, St. Paul’s Cathedral, London, Jesus College, Cambridge, St. Paul’s K Street, Washington D.C., St. Thomas 5th Ave. and Grace Church, New York City, and on multiple occasions at Duke Chapel, Durham.
Auditions for the choir include vocalization, a prepared choral piece, a solo aria or classical piece of your choosing, and sight-reading.  Participation in the choir requires straight-tone singing, excellent intonation, good sight-reading abilities, prior choral experience, and steady attendance/commitment.   Those interested should email djernigan@ccral.org to find out more or to set-up an audition.
