The Durham Community Chorale Presents: Do You Hear the People Sing?

Join Us for an Afternoon of Beautiful Music!  

We are thrilled to invite you to our next concert, Do You Hear the People Sing? on Saturday, May 3rd, at 3:30 PM. Come and enjoy an engaging program featuring a variety of choral pieces that will uplift and inspire! 

Music has always had the power to bring peace and comfort in times of uncertainty and strife, helping us celebrate our shared humanity—much like the wisdom that comes with age (and possibly a few hot pink purses). The Durham Community Chorale invites you to join us on Saturday, May 3, at 3:30 PM at Temple Baptist Church for a celebration of music that comforts, challenges, and unites us. 

With music spanning from the 16th Century to the present, including a delightful setting of When I Become an Old Woman by North Carolina’s own Sherry Blevins, we promise to provide a musical respite from the stress of adulting. After all, when you become an old woman, you can say exactly what you’re thinking, embrace your inner Sasquatch, and toss those pesky bras away! Who wouldn’t want to twirl like nobody’s watching while belting out Take Me Home, Country Roads? 

Expect a mix of warm nostalgia with pieces like Mountain Music, optimistic visions in Light of a Clear Blue Morning and Over the Rainbow/What a Wonderful World and the empowering calls to action from Stand by Me and Les Miserables along with other favorites old and new.
