Employment and Paid Opportunities
Organist/Pianist
The Elon Community Church (Elon, NC–Williamson Ave.) is searching for an organist/pianist. Principally, this part-time position accompanies our chancel choir (including rehearsals), and plays the working parts of the service (prelude/postlude, hymns, etc.—either on organ or piano). In addition, this keyboardist will occasionally collaborate with children and/or youth choirs during Sunday morning worship services. Our services include a variety of genre including traditional, contemporary, gospel, etc. The chancel choir rehearses on Sunday mornings before the service. One service per Sunday @ 10:30am. The choir also rehearses one Wednesday evening per month. So, we do not rehearse every Wednesday night. Additional responsibilities include playing organ/piano at our annual Moravian Love Feast, and Lessons & Carols. Additional services, responsibilities, and remuneration will be discussed during the interview process. We have a Yamaha (I think it’s a C9) as well as a Casavant organ in the sanctuary and they are well maintained. Interested candidates should send an email to Pastor Randy Orwig, revrandyecc@att.net; and Stephen Futrell sfutrell@elon.edu.

The ideal candidates will also have experience coaching amateur singers in occasional sectional rehearsals. Staff singer auditions are approximately 30 minutes in length. Applicants should prepare two contrasting songs/arias, and be ready to show aptitude in sight-singing. To apply, please send a resume and brief introductory email to chapelmusic@duke.edu.
