The Chancel Choir of United Church of Chapel Hill sings most Sundays during the school year, usually at the 11:00 service. They also sing for Christmas Lessons and Carols and other special services in the church year. Membership is open to all regardless of religious affiliation (or lack thereof!).
United Voices of Praise sings traditional and contemporary African-American gospel music with joy and spirituality that transcends differences among people. The group grew out of a 1995 Christmas performance by United Church of Chapel Hill’s gospel choir and the choir of Fisher Memorial Holy Church in Durham. All singers are welcome, regardless of affiliation. In addition to monthly services at both churches, United Voices sings at community events and has toured Europe.
Founded in 1980 as Chapel Hill-Carrboro Community Chorus, Voices is dedicated to performing high-quality choral music from a variety of traditions. Voices performs two main concerts per year, in December and in May. Voices also has a smaller select ensemble, Cantari and a seven-week Voices Summer Chorus.
Women’s Voices Chorus is the premier Triangle chorus for sopranos and altos. While performing a wide and diverse repertoire, it remains steadfast in support of its threefold mission: to provide a welcoming place in the Triangle for women to share the joy of singing together, to promote choral works written by and for women, and to strive to achieve the highest standards of musical excellence. The chorus performs ticketed concerts each Winter and Spring.
