56th Annual Handel’s Messiah Open Sing

Every year since 1966 (except during the pandemic), community members have gathered together to perform Handel’s Messiah during Advent. We gather together a conductor and a small orchestra, and the audience is the choir. Every member of the audience is handed a vocal score when they walk in the door and join their appropriate choir section; there are no bystanders! Immersive participation makes this Messiah Sing very special. The pandemic halted the Chapel Hill Messiah Sing for several years, but we revived the tradition last December and are continuing this year as well! This year the 56th annual Chapel Hill Handel’s Messiah Open Sing will be held on Saturday, December 14, at 7 PM at the Chapel Hill Bible Church.
