Seven Last Word of the Unarmed: And other selections of hope and inspiration

On Saturday, February 17th, and Sunday, February 18th, the Triangle Gay Men’s Chorus will present a Social Justice themed concert, a poignant homage to lives marred by the scourge of police violence and systemic inequity. This evocative event will be anchored by two profoundly moving musical compositions: Joel Thompson’s The Seven Last Words of the Unarmed and Alysia Lee’s Say Her Name.

The Triangle Gay Men’s Chorus, under the steadfast leadership of Artistic Director Stanley Wilson, and featuring the eloquent orator Lisa Jones, have come together to present these concerts that aim to not only entertain but also to illuminate the urgent need to remember and honor those black lives lost to police violence. This is an opportunity to collectively bear witness to the harsh realities of our society and, in doing so, inspire change and foster unity.

In this sacred communion of hearts and minds, we collectively face the stark truths of our society. Through this solemn gathering, we kindle the flame of transformation, aspiring to forge a path toward unity, justice, and lasting change.
