Durham Community Chorale Fall/Holiday Concert: Music in the Heart
Join us for an afternoon that will fill your heart with harmony and holiday cheer! Under the direction of Melody Zentner, the Durham Community Chorale proudly presents Music in the Heart, a celebration of music that brings people together, uplifts the soul, and captures the magic of the season.
Our program features a mix of festive favorites, touching ballads, and lively gospel rhythms, from Broadway sparkle to heartfelt choral arrangements. Among the highlights are arrangements of:
- I Will Light Candles this Christmas, a poem by civil rights leader Howard Thurman,
- Winter, Fire, and Snow, a poem by the Irish poet Macdara Woods,
- Ain’t That a-Rocking, the African-American spiritual,
- This Christmas, the classic Donny Hathaway song,
- Believe, the Academy Award nominated theme song from The Polar Express,
- God Rest You Merry, Gentlemen in a unique rhythmic setting
- Christmas on Broadway, a joyful nod to our Chorale’s Carnegie Hall debut last spring,
- and many more.
Come celebrate the warmth, joy, and wonder of the season, because when you fill your heart with music, you share it with the world.
