Fauré’s Requiem
Arguably one of the most iconic and emotive master works of the sacred choral repertoire, Faure’s Requiem, for choir, organ and orchestra is the centerpiece of this All Saints Day concert. It will be performed alongside John Tavener’s “Song for Athene,” sung for Princess Diana’s funeral at Westminster Abbey, and Herbert Howell’s “Take him, Earth, for cherishing,” sung for John F. Kennedy’s funeral at Washington National Cathedral. Admission is free of charge and open to all and a reception will follow the concert.
