Monteverdi & His Circle: Sacred Chamber Music
As a prelude to Chorworks’ Saturday Vespers concert, faculty and students explore the intimate world of early seventeenth-century Italian sacred chamber music. Featuring smaller-scale motets by Monteverdi, Grandi, Finetti, Aleotti, and their contemporaries, this program highlights the expressive immediacy and vocal brilliance of the early Baroque. Performed by Clara Rottsolk, soprano; Andrew Bearden Brown, tenor; Daniel Swenberg, theorbo; faculty and student singers; directed by Philip Cave.
