PALMETTO VOICES SPIRITUAL ENSEMBLE

The legacy of the Spiritual lives on!  The Virginia Tull Fine Arts Series is pleased to present Palmetto Voices Spiritual Ensemble, Dr. Sonja A. Sepúlveda, Artistic Director.  This concert will be held in the Sanctuary at Wake Forest Baptist Church, 107 E. South Avenue, Wake Forest, www.wakeforestbaptistchurch.org.

The Palmetto Voices Spiritual Ensemble is made up of alumni of Dr. Sonja Sepúlveda from Salem College Choirs of North Carolina, Brewton-Parker College Concert Choir of Georgia, Women’s Chorus of Western Kentucky University, Carolina Alive of the University of South Carolina, the Sumter High Concert Choir of South Carolina plus other auditioned choral singers from 6 states. This choir features inter-generational singing and diversity of cultures. Formed in 2006, the choir strives to preserve the legacy of the Negro Spiritual and share the vision that this unique American choral art form is for everyone. The choir has sung for National, Southern and State American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) conferences, Carnegie Hall multiple times and toured Italy, Vienna and Greece.
