Choral Society of Durham Virtual Sing-Along: Mozart Requiem
Join the Choral Society of Durham on Sunday, January 23 at 4 pm for Mozart Requiem Sing-along! As one of our participants last season stated: “This is a lovely way to share the wonder of choral music.” All are welcome to participate in our sing-alongs with no cost to register. Instead, we hope you will consider making a donation to us.
Just days before Mozart’s birthday on January 27, we invite you to sing his iconic Requiem, written in the final 6 months before his death in 1791. Though left incomplete and thereafter finished by two of his students, this music has continued to provide inspiration and comfort in the face of personal struggles and national tragedy. The choral writing is eminently singable, whether evoking a glorious vision of heaven or giving utterance to deepest grief.
